Fri 12 April 4pm to Sun 14 April 4pm
Led by Henriette Howarth and Gabriela Todd.
If you enjoy walking and want to practice Christian meditation/contemplation, this weekend is for you!
Walking, pilgrimage and meditation are life-giving spiritual practices in the Christian tradition.
We will be walking in the landscape of the Yorkshire Dales to become more deeply aware of ourselves, of God and of our place on the earth. When we are not out walking, there will be time and space for guided and silent meditation, scriptural explorations and worship.
The walks will be of varied lengths suitable for all. Those who can’t walk long distances can enjoy the immediate beautiful and peaceful surroundings of Scargill House, which is wheelchair and walking frame accessible. Everyone is welcome including families with (young) children. Parents/carers will be responsible for their children.
The weekend will be co-led by Henriette Howarth and Gabriela Todd. Henriette is an Anglican priest, originally from the Netherlands, but now based in Yorkshire. She is a spiritual director and meditation teacher. Gabriela is based in Cardiff and is particularly interested in how walking, movement, nature and accessibility affect our wellbeing as a community and she is involved with Catholic People’s Weeks, a lay Catholic organisation.
